Illinois native Steve Kunz joined The Hechtman Group in 2012 after graduating college. In 2023, Steve was promoted to Senior Tax Manager and specializes in partnerships, S corporations and individual taxation with a focus on real estate, small businesses, and high net worth individuals.
Steve achieved a double major in accounting and finance from Illinois State University. As a trusted advisor, he guides each client through critical decisions in structuring their business or evaluating current financial conditions. With tax expertise and demonstrated success, Steve has established long-running relationships with his clients. This mutual partnership has resulted in clients who feel confident in his ability to help them achieve their financial goals.
Before joining THG, Steve gained experience with a CPA firm in Bloomington. He learned how to provide a high level of service to entrepreneurs and business leaders, skills that have carried forward throughout his career.
Steve and his wife live in Libertyville. In his downtime, Steve can be found playing basketball and working on his golf game or cheering on Chicago’s own Bulls, Cubs, and Bears. He has been a volunteer with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital since 2018.
