Marlene first started working for The Hechtman Group as an intern during the 2017 tax season. She joined The Hechtman Group as a staff accountant in 2018 and was later promoted to Tax Supervisor in 2022 where she specializes in tax preparation.
When tax season approaches, Marlene is the person to assist. She has prepared income tax returns across all forms including personal, business, and trusts. With legislation updates happening every year, Marlene is always learning, and this is a part of the job she likes. Her goal is to be able to assist a client with any question and if she does not know the answer, she will lean into one of her colleagues.
Marlene earned her Bachelor of Science and Master in Accounting from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is currently working toward her CPA.
Originally from Durango, Mexico, Marlene now lives in Bensenville with her husband Angel. An avid reader of thrillers and mysteries, she is a fan of any James Patterson books. She and Angel value their time with family and warming up in front of bonfires on cool evenings.
