For over 30 years, Kari has been providing accounting and tax services to corporations and partnerships. After 25 years with Echales, Benjamin, and Simkin, LLP, she recently joined The Hechtman Group as senior tax manager when the two firms merged in June 2021. She is excited for the new opportunity with two firms equally aligned in values which she describes as sincere, caring, and energetic.
A graduate of DePaul University, Kari is responsible for overseeing her client’s tax responsibilities to ensure the accounting processes adhere to state regulations and uses her expertise to evaluate and prepare tax documents. It’s important to her that she empowers her clients with knowledge to enable them to make solid and immediate business decisions. She wants them to feel like they are her only client.
Outside of work, Kari is a nature and animal lover with horses, dogs, cats, birds, fish, and an assortment of animals. She finds her peace in nature, birdwatching, and studying astronomy. An accomplished pianist, Kari plays for several organizations weekly and appreciates a wide range of music genres.
