Esther is a Senior Accountant who has been with The Hechtman Group for over seven years. She interacts with clients on individual and entity tax compliance, bookkeeping, payroll, and other accounting services. She has become a subject matter expert on new legislation related to COVID-19 loans and grants.
Esther earned her MBA with an accounting emphasis from Keller Graduate School of Management, and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Illinois. She is an active IRS Enrolled Agent (EA) since 2014 and says the IRS is not as big and scary as most people may think.
After helping a friend resolve a decades-long overdue tax issue, Esther realized she liked the challenge of tax reconciliation and the gratification of being able to help someone in need. In addition to her clients at THG, Esther has also donated her time preparing income tax returns through Ladder Up, an organization that provides free financial consulting for low-income families.
Esther and her partner Zack have lived in Illinois for over 20 years. Together, the couple enjoy hosting BBQs, sitting on the beach in Mexico, skiing in Colorado, or working together on Zack’s interior remodeling business. They have a black-capped conure parrot named Nemo and pint-size parrotlet named Mini.
