As managing partner of The Hechtman Group, Jim works closely with clients to develop comprehensive business management plans. Expert in all types of taxation of limited liability companies, corporations, partnerships, individuals and fiduciaries, Jim also supports clients acting as an outside controller or Chief Financial Officer.

Since 1993, The Hechtman Group under Jim’s leadership has become a trusted partner for start-up businesses. Jim offers consulting services in the organization and implementation stage as well as providing on-going business management.

Prior to The Hechtman Group, he served in the tax department of national public accounting firm for two years. Jim graduated from University of Michigan in 1991.

Jim and his wife, Tricia, live in the suburb of Northbrook. After successfully managing a dependent relationship through their dog, Kendall – a shelter adoptee, they were well-readied for the arrival of their sons, Owen in October 2002 and Emmitt in October 2005. Jim enjoys his free time with his family.

An avid golfer striving for a consistent score, Jim also participates in a 12-inch softball league. And from October through March, he can be found on the basketball court practicing what he calls his own version of psychotherapy.

Jim’s professional associations include; American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Illinois CPA Society, The International Council of Shopping Centers, the Home Builders Association of Greater Chicago, the Lincoln Park Builder Association and the Northbrook Chamber of Commerce.
